CA state tax lien
I am doing an equity purchase with an owner. There is substantial equity but there is a judgment of 41k and a California state tax lien of 54k. I can negotiate to buy the judgment lien or a discounted payoff but I am not sure how to handle the state tax lien. The owner says it is an estimated tax burden because he did not file for 3 years and his liability is substantially less. How should I deal with that lien?
