Foreclosure After Death

Posted by Shirley Lane on November 06, 2007 at 5:23 PM

My son passed away and his home is in foreclosure - today I received papers from the foreclosure attorneys and they name as the Defendants, my son, et al and myself Individually and as the Administrator of his Estate. He died Intestate and there is no money at all in his estate. Why am I being named Individually - I am not on the mortgage and have no interest at all in the property other than as the only survivor - will this show as a foreclosure on my credit?. I do not intend to try and save the property, there are too many debts. This is in New Jersey.
