Lender's Opening Bid

Posted by Dan on September 28, 2006 at 11:36 PM

Question: Anyone have any success in getting a beneficiary to lower their opening bid for a trustee sale? If so, what method was used? I've been seeing numerous properties going back to the lender without any bidding, however, if they lowered the opening bid just a few percent (perhaps lowering from $300k to $285k) there might be more interest. I've been close to pulling the trigger at sale lately, but the opening bid was just a bit too high. I realize there are just a bunch of paper pushers on the other end unwilling to make a decision, but I can't help but believe there must be a way to convince them that it is in their best interest.
Thanks....
